Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” I totally agree. I plan my year, my week, my day, my commitments, based on my goals and my values.
I feel so strongly about planning that at the start of 2023, I presented a webinar for my Professional Organiser’s Edge members called Planning Hour of Power. It’s so nice to hear back from the members who have implemented their plans from that hour of power, and to hear of the success they are achieving. Yay them!
Here we are nearly at the end of 2023 and my mind is turning to planning for 2024. I always take time at the start of each year to make my plans which align to my goals and values. The first step in that planning is to look back over the past year and take stock. What actually happened this year? I’ve been doing this for such a long time now. Here are my reflections from back on New Year’s Eve, 2010. It was a pretty good year.
Once I’ve taken stock, I ask myself, “What do I want more of?” and “What do I want less of?” Those are powerful questions that can guide my future plans. Naturally, I also look at the hard facts like financials to help with my decisions. But for me it’s “the feels” that influence my plans. Working with “the feels” makes it easier to visual, engage with and strive for my goals.
So here are my questions to you…
- What did 2023 bring for you? I hope the list includes fabulous clients who made life-changing improvements in their lives thanks to your work together.
- What do you want more of? For some people that will be more clients. For others it will be more time to work on a new project.
- What do you want less of? For some people that will be less gaps in my calendar. For others it will be less time wasters.
And now, the next step. Would you like to partner with me to make it happen just as you are planning for 2024? I would love to help you achieve your goals. Drop me a line and let’s chat about the possibilities.
