Here we are at Day 2 of our week-long mini declutter challenge. Yesterday we tackled the wardrobe. In case you missed it, take a look here.
Go to your Linen Press.
Let’s assume there are towels, bedlinen, facewashers, teatowels, bath mats, beach towels, spare blankets and tablecloths in your linen press. In reality I know there’s lots more variety. I’ve seen gifts, sewing machines, camping equipment and pet food stored in various linen presses over the years. I store tools and lightbulbs in mine. But for the purpose of this exercise, let’s concentrate on those things you would normally expect to find in a linen press.
Find 5 items you don’t use, need or love. Declutter those.
Wondering what to do with your cast-offs? The great thing about most linen press finds is that they are absorbent. They make great cleaning rags. They also make wonderful pet bedding. If you don’t have a pet, the RSPCA or your local vet would love to have your donation. Auto mechanics also need absorbent rags. And of course if they are in good condition, you can donate them to your favourite worthy cause.
