Washing which has been washed but not hung out to dry turns smelly and mouldy.  Similarly, other tasks which are left half-done create more work or a mess for you to deal with.

As Peter Walsh says,

Finish the Cycle.

Once a task is begun, follow it through to the end.

(A red flag might help with that.)
