105: a bottle opener in the shape of a bikini-clad woman (a joke gift)
106: a perfectly good address book that I just don’t need. Both of these are headed to the charity shop.
107: sunscreen 2 years past its use-by date, formerly located in car glove compartment. Must remember to replace it.
108: half-used out-of-date bottle of Baileys Irish Cream. It’s nice but we just don’t drink that much of it.
109: one Twitter follow. I use Twitter to connect with the business community. I’m not interested in someone else’s political or religious beliefs, especially when they are narrow-minded.
110-112: more magazines, read and ready to pass on. Yes I have a lot to get through.
113: a 40-year-old 45rpm vinyl record of a friend of the family singing in a choir as a child. Sweet, but we’ll pass it back to him to preserve his childhood memories.
So it seems I’ve fallen behind target with the Declutter Challenge! To be honest, I’m looking around me all the time, but just can’t find much clutter in my life right now. Nice dilemma to have. I’m fairly confident that I can still achieve my goal though. I haven’t even started on the kitchen pantry, the bookshelf, my craft drawers or the garden shed yet.
How’s your Creating Order 2009 Declutter Challenge! going?
Slowly. I have been decluttering old magazines during the last days. I can’t throw them away without having a look at them, and that takes its time.
At the moment I am suffering from a bit of a cold, so I am not that full of energy. But I will keep on going.
OK. I’m doing a great job with this de-cluttering challenge I’m proud to say.
But here’s a good question…….During some ‘de-cluttering searching’ in the garage, I came across a plastic bag FULL of old 1c and 2c coins. The kids were excited as I told them that if they counted them up and bagged them, then we could take it to the bank and they could keep the money. There ended up being 770 coins in the bag!! So…to my question…..do I count this as 770 items? Or is it one item, that is one bag of coins. Everything else I’ve counted singularly, eg. 5 coathangers, 25 old curtain hooks etc..
Congratulations on your find. It’s common for me to find cash when decluttering in other people’s homes. Usually it’s just around $100 but the biggest find was $5500 in cheques and vouchers.
Good question about whether to count the bag of coins as one, or each coin found = 770. I’m going to pass it right back to you and let you and your conscience decide. 🙂 Either way, the end result is the same. You’ve made decluttering fun for you and the children.
