Recently I heard an interesting statistic. It takes the same amount of energy to produce 3 disposable cups of coffee as one apple. But you get more long-lasting energy from an apple than from a cup of coffee. So if you’re feeling drained mid-morning and need a jolt, go for the apple instead of the coffee. It’s better for both you and the environment. And it’s cheaper.

Some mornings I will eat an apple or other piece of fruit when I wake up, before my first coffee, and it not only gives me a burst of energy but supplements my breakfast so that I don’t get hungry before lunchtime. It’s a great way to start the day! Don’t ask me why I don’t do it every day…
