My gratitude today is a little left-field. Yesterday I mentioned I’d been to see the tax accountant. He always does a great job of making tax easier to understand, and more importantly, making sure I pay no more than my fair share.
Today I’m grateful for the taxes I pay. When you’re a small business owner, paying tax is a sign of a profitable business, which of course I am very thankful for, but there’s a much bigger reason I am grateful for paying tax.
I’m grateful for the roads I drive on, the school my granddaughter goes to, the clean beaches I can walk along, the public transport that takes me where I want to go, the safety of the streets I walk along, the security of knowing I can call 000 in case of emergency and will receive help, the health system that supports me and my family, and so much more. So yes, I am grateful for taxes.
